80 years of Marvel! The best way to celebrate it is a massive comic with many great writers, artists, and many of Marvel’s loved characters. Marvel Comics #1000 has about 80 pages and one story per page written by various writers such as Al Ewing, Rob Liefeld, Chip Zdarsky, and more. Some of these stories are fun, goofy, serious, and heartfelt.
My top 5 favorite stories in this book are:
- The Route by Donny Cates
- Because of Her by Gerry Conway
- Turkey Soup for the Deadpool Soul by Gail Simone
- Nighttime in the city by Toby WhitHouse
- The Devils Brand by Joe Quesada and Jimmy Palmiotti
Not only does this comic have fun telling stories for various heroes, but it also sets up something big as well. I would go into spoilers with this review, but I’m going to go into detail in another post and what it could mean for Marvel’s future. Overall, people should buy this comic, especially if you’re a fan of Marvel. Can’t wait to see what else Al Ewing got up his sleeves after seeing all the pieces set into motion.
