This is not a drill, Spider-Man is back in the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
The deal was made Thursday night, and Marvel/Disney will receive 25% of the profits, retain merchandise rights, and a future appearance in the MCU. A new Spider-Man film will be released on July 16, 2021.
From Variety, this what Kevin Feige had to say:
I am thrilled that Spidey’s journey in the MCU will continue, and I and all of us at Marvel Studios are very excited that we get to keep working on it,” said Feige in a statement. “Spider-Man is a powerful icon and hero whose story crosses all ages and audiences around the globe. He also happens to be the only hero with the superpower to cross cinematic universes, so as Sony continues to develop their own Spidey-verse you never know what surprises the future might hold.

This is honestly the best news I’ve heard all week! I’m happy that Sony and Disney/Marvel was able to come to an agreement and finish what they started because it would’ve been terrible if they left it on that cliffhanger or making a third movie that had no relation to the MCU. I believe this is damage control from Sony, especially with all the backlash they were recieving from fans. Can’t wait to see what the future holds Spidey! Guess I’ll buy Spider-Man: Far From Home now.
