I was finally able to finish the first season of The Witcher, and it was fantastic!

The Witcher series was created by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, and the show is based on the books created by Andrzej Sapkowski. The show follows Geralt of Rivia (monster hunter), Ciri (Princess of Cintra), and Yennefer of Vengerberg (mage). The three characters are trying to find their place in the world while destiny throws them into a whirlwind of adventures.

The story is fun, engaging, and never feels boring. The visuals for this show was stunning! Also, the action scenes were top notched such as the sword fighting, fighting monsters, and the use of magic. The music was incredibly well done too, and mesmerizing. And the acting does not disappoint at all.

What exceeded my expectations for The Witcher is how incredibly well Henry Cavill and Anya Chalotra played their characters. At first, I wasn’t too sure about Chalotra, but I like to keep an open mind, and she killed it as Yennefer. Henry Cavill was born to play Geralt. With the way Cavill executed his lines, his mannerisms, the way he fights, and more are literally how it’s expressed in the books and video games! I liked Cavill as Superman, but Geralt is who he was destined to play, and I’m so happy that he went for the role!

As a fan of The Witcher video games and the books, this series does not disappoint at all. I highly recommend watching this show. Kudos to everyone involved with The Witcher. I cannot wait for season 2!
