‘Aquaman’ Will Be Getting An Animated Series On HBO Max!

It’s time to get wet because Aquaman will be getting a three-part animated mini-series on HBO Max! The show will be called Aquaman: King of Atlantis and it will be produced by James Wan.

Here’s the plot for Aquaman: King of Atlantis:

‘King of Atlantis’ will begin with Aquaman’s first day on the job as king of Atlantis. Luckily, he has his two royal advisors to back him up – Vulko, the scholar, and Mera, the water controlling warrior-princess. Between dealing with unscrupulous surface dwellers, elder evils from beyond time and his own half-brother who wants to overthrow him, Aquaman is going to have to rise to the challenge and prove to his subjects, and to himself, that he’s the right man for the trident.

I’m excited to watch this series, especially since it’ll play a key role leading up to Aquaman 2. What’s crazy to me is that this show is not going to be on the DC Universe app. With all the DC content coming to HBO Max, it feels like WB is treating the DC app like a child it never wanted. I can’t wait to see what the series is going to look like, which will probably be this year in the summer or fall.
