‘New Mutants’ Director Feels Less Pressure After The Bad Reception of ‘Dark Phoenix’

In his interview with with Empire, Josh Boone feels less pressure after Dark Phoneix got terrible reviews.

Here is what Boone said:

Look, you can only go up after Dark Phoenix,” the director shared with Empire. “That’s not to say anything bad about the people involved, but it was what it was.” Boone added, “Honestly, I feel less pressure now than I did ahead of the first slated release date. Because we’ve tested our movie so many times, and audiences have loved it.

It’s true, Dark Phoenix was the last X-Men FOX film, and it was really bad. I have high hopes for this film, and like Boone said, you can only go up.

Disney if you’re reading this, please release New Mutants digitally *cries*.
