The man of steel himself, Henry Cavill, is in talks to return to the DCEU!
According to an article from Deadline, here is what it had to say:
We hear Cavill could come back in a couple of different ways, though not in a stand-alone film. But there are plans to put him back in the big red cape again, sources with knowledge tell us.
I think this is great! I’m a big fan of Superman, so I’m happy to know that he will be in more films. It could be possible that we could see him fight Black Adam in Shazam 2. Another film that we could see him in is The Flash since it has been said that it will be using the Flashpoint storyline.
The only thing that bothers me is that the talks aren’t about a standalone film, but I guess there’s not much of a story you can do with him. Superman in the DCEU has shown that he can die and come back, so what kind of threat would he even deal with other than to save lives? Which he’s done in all 3 films he’s been in. Other than a team-up film or a short cameo, there’s not much you can do with the character in a solo film. The only story that comes to mind for a sequel is All-Star Superman, but we’ll see what WB decides to do.
I know some part of you might want to give up hope. But this is our moment. Our chance to turn things around. I know we’ve been divided. Torn apart. Broken — for so damn long — but now it’s time to assemble.
