We finally got new details for Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered!
Here’s information about the graphic changes in the game from Playstation.Blog:
Let’s talk about graphical updates. The team has done the painstaking work of updating the city’s environment to take advantage of the new console. Beyond improved models and materials, one of the biggest things we have brought to the game is ray-traced reflections and ambient shadows. We now have true reflections on the windows of buildings, and it looks stunning with our new skies and weather.
Now here are some in game photos to show you those details:
The original game already looked great, but this new remastered look makes the original look like it came out for the PS1. The textures, reflections, colors all look incredibly good.
More details are regarding the character models. And here is what Playstation.Blog had to say:
But it’s not just the environments; our characters have also gotten a huge upgrade. From higher fidelity skin, eye, and teeth shaders to individually-rendered strands of hair, the new tech and detail brings our characters and their performances to new life.
Here’s an example from a clip from Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered:
The clip looked fantastic. The power of the PS5 really shows what video games can do. I loved the way the facial animations looked, the movements looked smoother, and the textures are even better than ever. What caught me by surprise is that they changed the look of Peter. I’m mixed on how I feel about the change because the original Peter looked like he had years of experience as Spider-Man, whereas the new look makes him look like he’s going to start his journey, also he kinda looks like Tom Holland. I don’t hate the change, but it’s definitely weird.
Finally, let’s talk about the performance of the game. Here is what Playstation.Blog had to say regarding the gameplay:
Additionally, thanks to the power of the PS5 console, we’re now able to offer a high frame rate through Performance Mode, which targets a 60fps frame rate! This allows you to experience the beginning of the Marvel’s Spider-Man storyline like never before. It feels amazing to play.
Here’s the gameplay:
I can’t believe it was possible to make Marvel’s Spider-Man look even better. The gameplay and the look of the city has a brand new life. Marvel’s Spider-Man is my favorite superhero video game, and for it to get a full-on remaster honestly makes me happy. It’s going to feel like I’ve never played this game before, and I can’t wait.
Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered will come out on November 12, 2020 when you purchase Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition.
