Warner Brothers Will Be Releasing 6 DC Films A Year!

Warner Brothers are planning on releasing 6 DC movies per year starting 2022. The plan is to release 4 films in theaters and 2 movies on HBO Max.

Here’s what Walter Hamada (President of DC Films) said in The New York Times:

The most expensive DC movies (up to four a year, starting in 2022) are designed for release in theaters, Mr. Hamada said. Additional superhero films (two annually is the goal, perhaps focused on riskier characters like Batgirl and Static Shock) will arrive exclusively on HBO Max, the fledgling streaming service owned by WarnerMed

It’s an interesting idea to release 6 DC films per year, but I don’t think that plan will follow through. We’ve seen time and time again that WB changes their mind when it comes to their DC content. The plan would probably work better if it’s 4 movies and has 1 out of the 4 on HBO Max because I feel like if they’re going to have 6 films, they’re going to scrap it because it’s too much money. That’s just my opinion, and I do hope it works out.
