Michael Keaton has officially been confirmed to be replacing Ben Affleck in the DCEU after The Flash (2022). The rumors have been speculating for a while on Keaton’s big role for the future of the DCEU and the multiple film appearances. Plus, after the interview with Walter Hamada in The New York Times and how there will be two franchises involving the character, the speculation fueled even more.
The official confirmation of Michael Keaton replacing Ben Affleck in the DCEU comes Brooks Barnes from the NYT:
Keaton’s Batman is my favorite live-action version of the character, so this makes me happy. What I’m also excited about is the possibility of a Batman Beyond movie that could be in the works. Even though The Flash will be Affleck’s last performance as Batman, at least he’s going to go out with a bang. My expectations for the future of Keaton’s Batman is incredibly high.
