‘Blade’ Could Possibly Be PG-13

If you’re excited that Blade in the MCU will be rated R then I got some bad news for you. It seems that Deadpool 3 will the only exception to the rule for a rated R MCU film.

During the Disney’s TSA event, this is what Kevin Feige said:

Other than Deadpool, which has¬†already established itself¬†as a certain genre and a certain rating, that we already said we would not mess with when we started working on Deadpool – which we have – other than that, we haven’t encountered a story or a storyline or a character’s journey that a PG-13, or the tone, or the ratings we’ve been using up to this point has prevented us… We’ve told all the stories that we wanted to with the tonality and the rating we have now.

Honestly, I’m mixed about this. On one hand with Blade being rated R you don’t have to hold back on blood use and the dark territories with the vampires, but on the other hand, they don’t have to put intense gore to get the same results. We’ve seen time and time again that PG-13 ratings can get pushed to the limits without being rated R, so I think we’ll be fine. I guess we’ll see when we see a trailer.
