Marvel’s WandaVision has ended, and I got to say, I’m in love with this series!
The story was amazing. The first two episodes set the tone for the series how Wanda’s happy sitcom dimension is just one big false lie trying to cope with depression, and that’s what instantly hooked me. I also love how it just gets progressively worse for Wanda as she’s starting to lose grip with what’s happening with the reality she’s made. Also, S.W.O.R.D being involved in trying to stop Wanda and how they used Vision’s dead body as a weapon, was wild.
WandaVision was nine episodes, and each episode just always left me wanting more! Who’s Agnes? Is Mephisto behind this? Will Wanda keep the reality when the series ends? Is the rabbbit Mephisto? Is this Fox Quicksilver? Is Mephisto everyone?! I was always so excited and it was fun speculating with my friends about what’s going to happen.
The show looked incredible and you can tell that the budget was heavy. I loved how each episode had a new look, and how the ratio size of the screen change depending on where the story is taking place. If there’s one nitpick was maybe some of the CGI looked off in the last episode and almost looked like a Disney Channel film, but that’s about it.
The actors killed it in this series. Elizabeth Olsen was just so good as Wanda and you get to really feel for her as the story progressed. Paul Bettany as Vision was fantastic! In my opinion, this was Bettany’s best portrayal of the character, especially in the last episode because I almost cried. Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau is perfect, like she really killed it playing her! I was so excited when Monica got her powers, hell I was losing my shit every time she was on screen…maybe I’m biased because Monica is one of my favorite characters in comics. Kathryn Hahn as Agatha Harkness, I mean come on, she was amazing in this role and she cracked me up. Every actor involved with this series was awesome, and if I continue praising each actor involved then it’ll be a long list.
I really do believe this is one of Marvel’s best content. What I love about this new series route is that it gets you connected on a personal level with the Marvel characters. I’ve never been a fan of Vision at all, not even in comics, but Paul’s performance as Vision was so good that it changed my mind. If this is what I can expect with the rest of the Marvel series, then I’m ready for this ride.
I recommend watching this series, even if you’re not even into superheroes because you’ll love it.
