The Netflix live-action adaption for Cowboy Bebop has officially wrapped up filming season one! The news came from Daniella Pineda, the actress who’s playing Faye Valentine in the series.
Here’s Pineda’s announcement on IG:
Netflix’s Cowboy Bebop will be developed by André Nemec and Jeff Pinkner, and written by Christopher Yost. Also, Shinchiro Watanabe, the original anime creator, will be there to consult the series. The new live-action series will expand the Cowboy Bebop universe, especially if there’s a season two.
I’m happy the series is officially done filming. I know they’ve been filming this series since 2019, but John Cho (Spike Spiegel) got injured then the pandemic happened, etc. Hopefully, the wait will be worth it, and maybe this will break the live-action anime curse. Cowboy Bebop is a cult classic in the anime community, so if they mess it up they’re not going to hear the end of it.
Netflix’s Cowboy Bebop is set to release this year.
