Helen Mirren has closed a deal to play the villain Hespera, a daughter of Atlas, in New Line and DC Films’ Shazam: Fury of the Gods, the sequel to the box office hit adaptation of the comic book. Zachary Levi is set to reprise his role of Shazam, with Rachel Zelger also aboard.
Casting Mirren to be the villain for Shazam 2 is great! I’ve enjoyed many of her previous works, so she’s going to kill it in the film. Shazam was one of the best comic book film’s I’ve seen, so I’m ready for the sequel!
Shazam: Fury of the Gods will release in theaters on June 2, 2023!
