The Mother of Dragons (and the long list of titles), Emilia Clarke, will be joining Marvel’s Secret Invasion!
From Variety, here’s what the article said:
Emilia Clarke is in final negotiations to join Marvel Studios’ “Secret Invasion,” the hot original series quickly coming together at Disney Plus.
The “Game of Thrones” headliner’s role is naturally under wraps, and marks her first foray into the Marvel universe. She joins previously reported cast Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Kingsley Ben-Adir, and Olivia Colman.
Marvel Studios declined to comment on the matter. Reps for Clarke did not immediately comment on the matter.
The news of Clarke joining Marvel caught me by surprise. News reports from a couple months ago said that she was going to be playing Mera in Aquaman 2, but I guess that’s not the case anymore. Honestly, this was a good move.
Secret Invasion is about the Skrulls taking over identities of both civilians and superheroes, and with the blip, it’s the perfect time for some Skrulls to takeover within those five years. Who’s a Skrull? Who knows, but I think Emilia Clarke could be playing one. The two roles that comes to mind is the Skrull princess Anelle or the queen Veranke. All we can do now is play the guessing game until official confirmation.
