New Story Arc For ‘Amazing Spider-Man’ This Fall!

Marvel has announced that starting with Amazing Spider-Man issue 75, we’ll be getting a brand new saga that no one will see coming, and with the return of Ben Reilley rocking the Spider-Man mantle once again. The team behind the future of Spider-Man are Kelly Thompson, Saladin Ahmed, Cody Ziglar, Patrick Gleason, and Zeb Wells.

Here’s what Marvel’s Nick Lowe had to say about the story:

The whole point of working on Spider-Man is trying to put new unliftable weights on top of him—physical, metaphysical, emotional, psychological—and seeing if he can lift them. But what if that weight truly is too heavy? What if someone with the exact same skills and formative years could do better? Ben Reilly is back and, with Aunt May and Uncle Ben’s lessons in the back of HIS mind as well, he’s here to step in where Peter Parker failed. Can he accomplish things the original Spider-Man never could? These questions are what sold me on this story.

Check out the cover for the 75th issue by Patrick Gleason:

With all these teases online with Spider-Man Beyond from different creators, I didn’t know what to expect and I thought Peter was going to wear a Ben inspired Spider-Man costume. Here’s the thing, I’m very biased when it comes to Ben Reilly, he’s my top 3 when it comes to the Spider-Man mantle, so to me this arc is off to a fantastic start. Pretty pumped to see more regarding the future of Amazing Spider-Man!

Amazing Spider-Man #75 will release in October!
