‘Loki’ S1 Review – The Perfect MCU Series!

Look, if you don’t want to read me gushing about how much I love Marvel Studios‘ Loki, then this review isn’t for you because holy mother of god! This is one of the BEST things to come out from the MCU, and I mean that with my whole heart. I’m just going to jump right into the review, also spoiler-free.

Loki is about 2012 Loki was going to change the timeline when he picked up the tesseract during the events of Avengers: Endgame, which isn’t supposed to happen, so the TVA has took him into custody. Before things get worse for Loki, TVA’s Mobius gets him to help out for a big mission, and that is stopping another variant of himself from messing with the sacred timeline. Will Loki use the TVA to his advantage or will he have a change of heart and do what’s right? WATCH THE SHOW BECAUSE MY MIND IS ALREADY GOING ONE THOUSAND MILES PER SECOND!!!

sorry about that… -ahem-

The storytelling in Loki blew me away. When I first watched it, I didn’t know it’ll be this good, but literally from start to end there was not one bad episode. This series had such a great balance of being serious and funny, plus the emotional moments were so good. Even the way the characters were written was just outstanding. I was never a Loki fan, and the fact that this series made me feel things for a character I never really liked says a lot.

Also, the series was so good that I even said to myself “there’s no way they can nail the landing with this because it’s just too great,” and I was so happy to be wrong. That finale made me lose my whole damn mind, hell, I couldn’t even finish my beer when I was watching it. Everyone involved with the writing for the series, I hope you get a pay raise and houses made of bricks of gold because I loved the living hell out of this show.

Oh man, the acting was just incredible. Tom Hiddleston really knows the ins and outs of playing Loki. There were times when an emotional scene had to deal with Loki, I felt that pain in my heart. Sophia Di Martino as Sylvie is my favorite character in the show! For someone to just come into the MCU and made it feel like she’s always been there from the start is such good acting. Owen Wilson even surprised me as Mobius, and I think this is his best role he’s done.

The cast has done such a great job, and I think I could do a whole review on the actors alone because there’s a lot of people to praise. I mean come on: Wunmi Mosaku as Hunter B-15, Tara Strong as Miss Minutes, Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Ravonna Renslayer, Richard E. Grant as Classic Loki, even Alligator as Alligator Loki! Everyone has done a superb job, so round of applause to the amazing actors on this show!

The visuals were outstanding and the color schemes used throughout the show. Even some of the episodes I go “damn, I wonder how much that cost to make that?!” Also, the camera angles was top notched as well, especially in episode 3.

When it comes to the score for the series, and I can’t believe I’m saying this, but this is the best original score in the MCU and it’s not debatable. Natalie Holt if you’re reading, you’re a genius.

I would never have thought that a series that stars Loki would be this good. This series is in my top 5 in the MCU. The show met my expectations, exceeded it, threw a curveball, and now I’m typing this review with no head attached to my body because I’m just mind blown.

If you haven’t watched Loki, currently the most important thing in the MCU, then I don’t know what to tell you other than watch this series, and when you finish, watch it again.

Marvel Studios really decided to give us a perfect show huh?
