What’s Pocus Hocus? Well it’s a comic series about a magician who makes a pact with the devil and now wants his soul back. Pocus Hocus draws inspiration from Death Note (a 10/10 series), The Prestige, and Psycho Goreman. The story is written by Allen Dunford & Will Radford, the art by Brian Balondo, coloring by Jasen Smith, and lettering by Dave Lentz. The series is dark, funny, bloody, and more!
Here’s what Mike Tener, publisher over at Bad Bug, had to say about the series:
Pocus Hocus is as dumb as the name suggests…and it’s better for it! It’s self-awareness is its truest strength: it’s both disturbing and funny precisely where and when it intends to be. I’m in love with the vibrant colors of the supernatural world serving as a juxtaposition to the black-and-white real world that mirrors the bleak outlook of its protagonist. It’s as visually stunning as it is engagingly written.
