Now this is some wild news that I woke up to, and to a lot of gamers as well. Microsoft has bought Activision Blizzard for $68.7 billion! Activision Blizzard is known for Call of Duty...and that’s pretty much it because that’s all that damn company cared about, but maybe this will start a new era.

Here’s what Xbox posted:

Over many decades, the studios and teams that make up Activision Blizzard have earned vast wellsprings of joy and respect from billions of people all over the world. We are incredibly excited to have the chance to work with the amazing, talented, dedicated people across Activision Publishing, Blizzard Entertainment, Beenox, Demonware, Digital Legends, High Moon Studios, Infinity Ward, King, Major League Gaming, Radical Entertainment, Raven Software, Sledgehammer Games, Toys for Bob, Treyarch and every team across Activision Blizzard.

Until this transaction closes, Activision Blizzard and Microsoft Gaming will continue to operate independently. Once the deal is complete, the Activision Blizzard business will report to me as CEO, Microsoft Gaming.

Activision Blizzard has so many amazing games under their belts, so hopefully being bought by Microsoft will bring those games out and more in the future. Also, with all the controversy surrounding Activision Blizzard, I hope Microsoft does a whole deep cleaning because a lot of the workers over there don’t deserve the shit they’re dealing with. This could be a blessing in disguise, and I can’t wait to see what will happen in the next couple weeks/months.
