Damn damn damn….DAMN! Kraven, my favorite Spider-Man villain of all time, is not getting the respect he deserves from Sony. Sony isn’t making Kraven a villain or hunter, he’s: Kraven: The Pet Detective, Kraven Dolittle, basically anything that doesn’t involve him hunting other than the ones hurting animals.

From Variety, Aaron Taylor-Johnson talks about playing Kraven and it’s not what I was expecting:

Taylor Johnson also spoke about his experience shooting “Kraven the Hunter,” who he described as “one of Marvel’s most iconic, notorious anti-heroes — Spider Man’s number one rival.” He said he found exciting the fact that this character is “not an alien, or a wizard. He’s just a hunter, a human with conviction. An animal lover and a protector of the natural world. He’s a very, very cool character.” He added that unlike other Marvel movies, “this one is shot entirely on location.”

First not casting Karl Urban and now making Kraven a good guy is painful as a long time fan. This is like of Sony would’ve made Red Skull a good guy and was just a misunderstanding. I guess we’ll never see SpiderMan: Kraven’s last hunt in live-action.

Look, I’ll give the film a chance and with an open mind because if it’s good then I’ll give it the praise it deserves. As of now, this is a level of betrayal to me since Superman snapping Zod’s neck in Man of Steel and Fox making New Mutants.
