It’s like what that one line that Clint said in Avengers: Endgame “Don’t give me hope.” Apparently a Batman Beyond animated film was greenlirt by Walter Hamada awhile back, and it could still be in development. Could my dreams come true?
The information came from Jess Sneider on The Hot Mic podcast, and here’s what he had to to say:
The following project was commissioned by Walter Hamada. It was, as far as I know, never reported. As of this minute, the project is in development at DC. Daniel Casey, the writer of Fast 9, wrote a Batman Beyond movie, but the catch wasn’t that it was live action, because that was what Christina Hodson was working on. It was an animated Batman Beyond, to be DC’s answer to Into the Spider-Verse.
I hope an animated Batman Beyond film still happens. I remember watching the series when it first released on Kids’ WB back in 1999, and it’s still one of my favorite shows. Even now, who’s a fan of the Neo-noir genre, it’s easily one of my top series in the genre. Batman Beyond is still very loved, and it’s crazy that this is a constant ball that keeps being dropped.
It’s time for Batman Beyond to return to the screen, no matter big or small. And if you haven’t watched Batman Beyond, please do because it’s incredible. Come on WB, it’s time to pull that trigger.
