With the SAG-AFTRA strike finally ending, we got some positive information about many films, and one of those films was Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse! Now since the strike has ended, actors can start recording their lines for Beyond the Spider-Verse. And with how amazing the second film was, this is definitely something that got me excited.
From Deadline, here’s what their article had to say:
Also, returning for voiceover recording will be Sony’s animated threequel Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse which was pushed off the calendar from its Easter weekend 2024 release. The pic’s sequel this past summer, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-verse, proved that there was no such thing as superhero fatigue at the box office, grossing over $690M WW. Whether Beyond the Spider-Verse lands on 2024 calendar remains in question, however, it would be quite welcome. Sony just announced that Nov. 8 next year is going to Venom 3.
To me, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is my favorite film of all time. From the storytelling and amazing art direction, it just has everything that makes a film. Even to this day, I’m still thinking about that ending.
Even after they finished voice work for Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, I hope that the film takes its time to be made. No crunch, no last-minute nonsense, just basically the opposite of what they did for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. We could be getting one of the perfect film trilogies in the game, and if it means waiting a bit longer so animators can breathe and do what they gotta do, then so be it.
